The main advantages of functional electromagnetic irradiation means in their application against UAVs have been highlighted. Typical malfunctions of radio electronic devices under the influence of powerful electromagnetic radiation have been identified. A structural diagram of a functional irradiation means with a multi-position transmitter system has been proposed. Requirements for the temporal and energy parameters of electromagnetic radiation for functional impact on UAV radio electronic devices are provided. Mathematical modeling of the field created by the multi-position transmitter system at the UAV location point has been conducted
